Karen Berger

Karen Berger

Karen Berger has walked more than 17,000 miles on 6 continents—and managed to hike the entire Appalachian Trail without a single blister. With such well-worn credentials, it’s probably no surprise that she’s written 10 books on the subject of hiking and is a contributing editor to Backpacker. A classically trained pianist, Karen is also the author of The Pocket Idiot’s Guide to Piano Chords. Visit her online at karenberger.com and hikerwriter.com.
