Writer and bon vivant Ron Fimrite first went
to baseball’s spring training
in
1967 on assignment for the San Francisco Chronicle. He has been back more
than 30 times since. His years of watching baseball in the desert informed
Put Some Swing in Your Spring, his essay on spring training
in Arizona. Ron is also
the author of The World Series: A History of Baseball’s Fall Classic and he
edited The Birth of a Fan, an anthology of essays about being
introduced to the sport. When he's not covering America's favorite pastime, he
likes to indulge in a new favorite
pastime: eating
out in Las Vegas.
