A snow leopard from the Conservation Carousel at Salt Lake City's Hogle Zoo

A snow leopard leaps, and keeps leaping, on the new Conservation Carousel at Utah's Hogle Zoo in Salt Lake City. Endangered species crowd the colorful merry-go-round, each bold figure a hand-carved and hand-painted work of art. A gorilla, an anteater, a giraffe, a poison dart
frog—42 creatures in
all—work to fulfill every child's dream: bounding away on the back of a special animal friend. (801) 582-1631,
