Make your own Floats

handmade glass floats from Lincoln City Oregon

Lucky beachcombers in Lincoln City, Ore., used to find glass floats that had slipped free of Japanese fishing nets. Today, they’re plastic, but at the Jennifer L. Sears Glass Art Studio you can craft an old-style float. With a long wand, you blow up hot, molten glass like bubble gum. Once cooled, your prize can journey across the sea or to your home. $65.
