Beating Jet Lag

Flying across time zones can bring on insomnia, headaches, and fatigue. VIA readers offer tips on how to reset the body clock.

"I cut back on coffee several days before leaving," writes Kate Grey of Reno. "When I arrive, I drink several cups."

"As soon as you board the airplane, reset your watch to the new time zone," suggests Amy Brydon of Portland.

"Upon arrival, fight the urge to nap," says Tia DeSoto of Santa Rosa, Calif. "Stay up late."

"Sunlight helps adjust my internal clock," writes Del Nelson of Hudson, Wyo.

"Take a steamy shower," suggests Sharon Ramsey of Sunnyvale, Calif. "It restores moisture to your body."

What do you do to get a good night’s sleep in a hotel room? Email us at otr@csaa.com. If we quote you, we’ll send you $50 and a VIA T-shirt.
