"Memory" acrylic on canvas by Marvin Schenck

By Heather Lee

A place for art
Thousands of art hounds flock to the communities of Fort Bragg, Mendocino, and Gualala every summer. You can gallery hop during Fort Bragg’s First Friday and Mendocino’s Second Saturday art walks (707-961-6300). Pick up a print at Gualala’s prestigious Art in the Redwoods Festival (August 20–21; 707-884-1138) or get behind the scenes at the Studio Discovery Tour for a peek into the working spaces of nearly 50 North Coast artists (September 3–4 and 10–11; 707-884-3444).
