A place for culture
Home to more than 30 art galleries, five theater companies, and a medley of outdoor concerts, the Sun Valley area (which includes the towns of Ketchum and Hailey) teems with attractions for the cultural tourist. From July 25 to August 15, the Sun Valley Summer Symphony (208-622-5607) holds free open-air concerts; from July 20 to August 7, the Company of Fools theater group (208-788-6520) presents a musical tribute to pioneer women. Browse the 130 booths at the Sun Valley Center Arts & Crafts Festival (August 12–14), or keep your eyes peeled for actor Bruce Willis at the Northern Rockies Folk Festival (August 5–6), where he’s been known to show up and jam with his band.
